Between my dissertation, MUCEP work, and the long emails to Steve I haven't really felt like typing any more lately.
I am so glad that I decided to volunteer for the Classics conference. What an incredible experience. I learned and affirmed so much and not just the content of the papers being presented. It's an experience I'll probably never have again because I'm not an aspiring Classicst. I can't wait until I have the opportunity to attend a medievalist conference. I think it'll probably blow my mind. I got to hang out with and get to know a little better some of the Classics types that I didn't know as well as others, which was awesome too.
I've been working a lot the past couple weeks but I'm toning it down a bit next week to work on my paper and to delve into this Women's History thing more (That's my MUCEP thing, getting electronic source materials).
So much has been going on over the past two weeks it seems like so much more time has gone past. I haven't spoken to Steve since Monday because he's in Berlin right now going to operas and symphonies and whatnot. That makes the time go by a little slower too.
I read through my old poetry last night. Bernard asked me recently if I had been writing recently and it seems that it's been a year and a half abouts since I last wrote anything. Strange, considering how prolific I used to be. I have 130 poems from a 4 or 5 year span. Only 40-something are even remotely acceptable though. Who knows, maybe I'll start writing again in the near future. I think all this academic writing over the past couple years has beat the poetry out of me for awhile though.
I think I'm gonna have a movie night with myself tonight and eat ice cream and/or chips. No, I'm not feeling depressed. I just like those things. :P
